Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, Shenzhen has developed rapidly, creating a great miracle that makes the world look at it with new eyes. Shenzhen today is the epitome and witness of the significant historical change and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Through the sharing of compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan areas of China and the sharing of international friends, this column tells about their experiences and feelings of studying, working, living and starting a business in Shenzhen. 作為華南地區規模龐大的在線教育機構之一,阿卡索髮根於香港,成長在深圳,累計服務客戶超4千萬。深圳市阿卡索資訊股份有限公司創始人兼CEO、香港青年王志彬認為,深圳創業環境非常好,半小時生活圈吸引了眾多香港專才。
王志彬出生在內地,6歲移民香港,在英國讀高中和大學。大數據專業畢業後,王志彬在英國從事過對沖基金行業,7年時間累計管理資產約200億元人民幣。隨着中國加速擁抱全球化浪潮的推進,各式培訓機構應運而生。2011年,王志彬加入教育培訓行業,在香港和深圳同步創立了阿卡索。
「創業初期互聯網發展很慢,我們做得比較早,試過教人普通話,教過美國人數學,也教過歐洲人學投資。」王志彬說,創業就是不斷發現問題不斷解決問題的探索過程。十年間,王志彬不停問自己應不應該做下去。經過數年的嘗試調整,2015年至2016年,王志彬將阿卡索的發展方向明確為在線英語外教,主攻大眾市場。
「我在國外生活了14年,很多學生和同事回到中國後,講英文時有時還是會辭不達意。」王志彬認為,「讀寫的時代已過去,現在更需要天天講,高頻講。90%的客戶來阿卡索都是希望能開口講英文。」王志彬說,以前外教價格很貴,阿卡索集合了眾多志同道合的夥伴,「將價格壓到20多元一堂課,讓大家可以天天講」。

而今,阿卡索全球員工有16000人,總部深圳有4000多人,業務遍布上海、武漢、紐約、倫敦、香港。「深圳總部還要再招2000人」,王志彬透露,阿卡索第二個十年的目標,是讓每一個中國學生都能在線留學,第三個十年的目標是進軍「一帶一路」沿線國家等海外市場。
創業十年來,阿卡索一直堅守深圳。王志彬說,選擇深圳,是因為毗鄰香港,語言飲食文化方面都和香港很相似,加上深港半小時生活圈,香港專業人士過來非常方便。王志彬尤為欣賞深圳政府的創新能力和解決問題的能力,「大家想的是解決方案,不停地尋找更好的解決方案」,王志彬說。「我現在最期待的就是,香港人控股的企業在合規情況下,可以在國內市場上市。」阿卡索深受中國投資者的青睞,自2016年以來已獲得10次融資。
對於想到大灣區發展的香港青年,王志彬有話說:「你不要先聽別人怎麼說,可以先過來走走看看,何不給自己多一個選擇呢?」王志彬建議,最好可以與已在內地創業的先行者或者企業多交流,「如果前期你不是很適應,可以找一些香港的朋友,或者香港人開的公司交流,能幫助你更快融入到這個生活圈裏」。
Wang Zhibin: try to adjust, make clear direction

As one of the largest online education institutions in South China, Acadsoc originated in Hong Kong and grew up in Shenzhen, serving more than 40 million customers. Wang Zhibin, founder and CEO of Shenzhen Acadsoc Information Co., Ltd., a young man from Hong Kong, believes that Shenzhen has a very good entrepreneurial environment, and the half-hour life circle has attracted many professionals from Hong Kong.
Born in the mainland, Wang Zhibin immigrated to Hong Kong at the age of 6 and studied in high school and University in the UK. After graduating with major of big data, Wang Zhibin was engaged in the hedge fund industry in the UK, with accumulated assets under management of about 20 billion yuan in seven years. Various training institutions emerged amid acceleration of globalization in China. In 2011, Wang Zhibin dedicated himself to education and training industry and established Acadsoc in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
「In the initial stage, Internet grew at a slow pace. We started early than peers.We tried to teach Mandarin, teach Americans mathematics, and Europeans to carry out investment.」 Wang Zhibin said that entrepreneurship is an exploration process of constantly finding and solving problems. In the first ten years, Wang Zhibin kept asking himself whether he should go on. Following several years of exploration and adjustment, Wang Zhibin set online English foreign teachers as the development direction of Acadsoc, focusing on the mass market.
「I've lived abroad for 14 years, and many students and colleagues often fail to express themselves accurately after back to China.」 Wang Zhibin believes that 「nowadays reading and writing are insufficient and it is necessary to speak English everyday and frequently. 90% customers of Acadsoc highly expect to speak English fluently.」 Wang Zhibin said that foreign teachers were very expensive before, and many positive partners sharing the same value gather in Acadsoc, 「cut down the unit price to about RMB20.00 yuan, so that everyone can speak every day."
At present, Acadsoc has 16,000 employees worldwide and more than 4,000 employees in Shenzhen headquarters. Its business covers Shanghai, Wuhan, New York, London and Hong Kong. 「We plan to recruit 2000.00 staff for Shenzhen headquarters,」 Wang Zhibin said the second ten-year target of Acadsoc is to enable every Chinese students to study abroad online and the third ten-year target is to launch businesses in countries along the route of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Acadsoc has been rooted in Shenzhen within ten years since its establishment. Wang Zhibin said that he choose Shenzhen as Shenzhen, adjacent to Hong Kong, owns similar language, diet and culture to those of Hong Kong. Besides, the half-hour life circle between Shenzhen and Hong Kong enable Hong Kong professionals to come Shenzhen conveniently. Wang Zhibin particularly appreciates Shenhen Government’s abilities of innovation solving and problem. 「We focus solutions and keep looking for better solutions,」 Wang said, 「I highly expect compliant enterprises controlled by Hong Kong people will be listed in the domestic market.」 Acadsoc is favored by Chinese investors and has completed financing for ten times since 2016.
For Hong Kong youth who desire to develop in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Wang Zhibin said, 「do not mind other’s viewpoints, come here and have a look first. Why don’t you give yourself another choice?」 Wang Zhibin highly recommend to communicate more with pioneers or enterprises who have started businesses in the mainland. 「You, once not used to here in the early stage, may communicate with friends from Hong Kong or companies run by Hong Kong people, which will help you assimilate into this life circle faster.」
